Haiku Double Down
You may now submit up to two pairs of haiku for this year’s haiku contest, but submitting a single pair is still most acceptable, indeed, highly desirable.
Get your haiku in! There is only a week and change until the October 22nd deadline.
Plus, in other exciting news, I know have four great judges for the contest including two published poets, the inimitable winner of last year’s contest, and a friend with a love of words and good ear.
Speaking of the winner from last year, Bob is currently blogging haiku in anticipation of the contest. Check out his great haiku and other poems.

Pencil it in. We have a breakfast date.

Haiku Contest: The Prizes, Including Cold, Hard Cash
We now have 5 judges! And to circumvent the very real possibility that I might have more judges than I get entries, let me hasten to list the prizes to sweeten the pot.
Grand Prize for Best Haiku Pair
- $20 in cold, hard cash (well a check actually)
- One Dassler orginal matted and framed
- Publication in catapult
One Prize Each for Best Autumn and Best Winter Haiku
- $10
- One Dassler original print in at least an 8×10
I wait for the first entries with baited breath, which if it were stink bait would be a very bad thing, but I digress.
