In the Shadows of Red Rocks – Best Free Zoo in the Country – St. Louis, Missouri

Here is another shot of light and dark from the zoo trip yesterday. Of course, it would have been far more sensible to actually note the name of the beasties as I took the picture, but not having done that I decided to reference Red Rocks in the post title, the area in the zoo which includes both antelope type animals and big cats, an arrangement which seems rather unfair. I can only imagine on days when the zookeeper is late with the slabs of meat and the wind is from the East, how the lions and tigers and such must pace with the scents in the air and “free range” meat so close and yet so impossibly removed :)

Light (and dark) Rail – Chiaroscuro! – St. Louis Metrolink Train from Jefferson

This one needs to be looked at larger, and, as the title implies, is an example of a possible entry for the chiaroscuro photo contest!
