Lightning Rod

I don’t know if this fascinating sculpture actually attracts lightning more than your average tree and whether it ever has been hit. It would be interesting to know. Upon doing a web search, though, I did finally discover the name of the sculpture. Here is a blurb from the St. Louis Art Museum site:

Roxy Paine’s gleaming, monumental sculpture Placebo was installed on the Saint Louis Art Museum’s west lawn in 2005. The 56-foot tall, stainless steel sculpture was a gift in memory of John Wooten Moore.
