warm froth for this chill – Haiku for a morning at Meshuggah – St. Louis Loop

warm froth for this chill,
bitter as coming winter;

The Sun Sets on “Nature is Never Spent”

Well, this evening, with a few simple snips of fishing filament, I will be taking down “Nature is Never Spent” from Meshuggah.

Thank you to all who visited. Even though I did not visit Meshuggah much during the month it was up as a customer, it was very nice to know as I drove by or contemplated friends sitting there that the exhibit was up around them.

Oh, and if you bought a picture, it should be yours in a very short amount of time. Thank you.

THE WORLD is charged with the grandeur of God.
It will flame out, like shining from shook foil;
It gathers to a greatness, like the ooze of oil
Crushed. Why do men then now not reck his rod?
Generations have trod, have trod, have trod;
And all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil;
And wears man’s smudge and shares man’s smell: the soil
Is bare now, nor can foot feel, being shod.

And for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs—
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

Nine out of 18…

…fifty percent, is not bad at all for the number of pictures sold in my current photo show. However, I would be happy to sell some more before (or after) the show comes down next Wednesday. Many thanks to everyone who has visited the exhibit either virtually or online. Oh, and if you mention it, this discount still applies.

Still available (in most-to-absolutely-least-surprising order)
Dearest Freshness, Deep Down Things
Sunflowers for Vincent
Maple Seed Still Life

Final Days! Great Savings!

Well, my exhibit at Meshuggah will only be up for a week or so more, so if you were interested in seeing it hanging, now would be the time to go.

I have been very pleased at the number of sales as of this writing. Yet, even though I have just moved into a new flat and have wall space for many of these (indeed, I have already thought about specific places for some of them), I would be far more interested in finding these pieces good homes other than my own.

To that end, for this final week, please feel free to take $5 off the price of any one piece in the show and $15 off if you buy a pair , but you must mention this blog post. (I just had to throw that last phrase in to make this an authentic ad 🙂

Now, I realize that this is a little bit unfair to those who have already very kindly purchased pieces (thank you), but I will still happily apply the discount if you purchase a second piece!
