This photo makes me long for my childhood in winter. Snow is notoriously difficult to photograph – the camera usually meters the bright snow and adjusts accordingly, thereby underexposing your subject (and often blowing out the snow). It looks like you worked around that problem. I would almost argue for a brighter snow. Not sure what this photo is saying about “best friend” – other than the subject is your best friend?

Nice capture of childhood experience of winter; nice texture in the clothing and soft snowy background. Would love to see a little more of the child’s face. Nice composition. (could crop a little more off the top)
