Window Shopping: The Little Blaque Dress

Well, I was not really window shopping at all, but I do like to look at the dresses in the windows of a little shop on Tower Grove Avenue called The Little Blaque Dress. Quite often one of the dresses in the window is an eponymous “little black dress,” which is generally pretty striking. At other times none of display dresses are black. There is an odd dress now and then which they feature that I do not really like the look of, but generally they are really sharp.

I wondered about the spelling “Blaque,” wondering if it has a special meaning in African American parlance, but other than a band by that name, I did not find anything else.

Ironically, this shop is adjacent to Sweetie Pies, which is an excellent soul food/Mississippi food restaurant, but if one spends too much time in there none of these dresses will fit (check out the mac and cheese recipe on this video!).

At any rate, driving home last Tuesday night, I really liked the glow the moisture on the window was creating around the dresses and had my camera with me, so I stopped, rolled down my window and took a couple of shots.
